Sport

Participation in sport is considered an important part of the educational philosophy at Trinity Catholic College. The focus of the sporting program is to encourage participation, no matter the level of skill, and to nurture a sporting culture that leads to personal best performances. The sporting program allows individuals to experiment with new sports and encourages seasoned competitors to improve their skills and to achieve at higher levels.

Trinity Catholic College is proud that current students and former students have performed at elite levels, representing both their state and country in a wide variety of sporting disciplines.

The types of sports offered at Trinity range from Weekend Club Sport, representative pathway sports within the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn, and NSW Combined Catholic Colleges (NSWCCC) as well as Associated Southern Colleges (ASC).

Archdiocesan, NSWCCC and ASC Carnivals (Individual and Team)

Students have the opportunity to trial for selection in representative carnival teams. Trinity Catholic College enters representative teams in the following carnivals:

Sporting Facilities

The College facilities for sport include six well maintained multipurpose use ovals located on the College Grounds. A 25m swimming pool, two turf cricket pitches, one synthetic pitch and five cricket training nets. The Great Hall which has one indoor court used primarily for basketball training and other indoor sport and Physical Education activities. Trinity Catholic College also has four tennis courts and two outdoor netball courts. Our College fields are also used to hold our home matches for Rugby Union, Soccer and Cricket.

Sports Awards

The College is proud to acknowledge students’ sporting efforts and achievements through Sports Awards. The College Sport Assembly is held in Term Four and acknowledges all sporting representatives and teams, and announces our Sports People of the Year (Junior and Senior).
