Gifted and Talented

Gifted and Talented education is a key element of the teaching and learning framework at Trinity Catholic College. At our College, every student is given the opportunity to challenge themselves through their interaction with the curriculum. Our extensive diagnostic tools allow us to identify students who would particularly benefit from these opportunities to extend themselves in areas of their study. We aim to identify all gifted and talented students in order to maximise their learning outcomes.

Our ASPIRE program is a program for students in Year 7 and 8 who have identified an interest in building their critical thinking skills and participating in a program that extends beyond standard classroom practice. This reflects our commitment to help every student achieve their academic potential. Students completing this program will graduate with a body of work that reflects their individual development of critical thinking, inquiry based learning, and problem solving in a curriculum area of their choice. They will work with their ASPIRE teacher mentors to develop a deeper understanding of the skills they require to understand, analyse and assess. The ability to engage in active dialogue, discuss contemporary or complex issues and embrace a love of lifelong learning with a group of their peers sets the ASPIRE Program apart.
